The Practice
Prosilience Studio is not just a medical spa; we are a carefully curated collection of skin rejuvenation and body contouring treatments designed to help our Boston area patients achieve their ideal appearance through non-surgical methods. Led by Dr. Catharine Crawford, our boutique med spa allows our visitors to relax and enjoy their treatments in a soothing environment while confidently knowing they are getting the attention to detail that they deserve from a knowledgeable, well-trained, and certified team.
Why a Physician Matters
- Candidate selection — knowing when not to treat, and being willing to say so. A surgeon’s training includes recognizing poor candidacy, which protects patients from procedures that will not deliver what they are hoping for.
- Anatomical precision — placement matters enormously with injectables and threads. Surgical training teaches tissue layers, vascular anatomy, and the specific locations where complications originate.
- Complication management — aesthetic procedures rarely go wrong, but when they do, a surgeon’s comfort managing the situation matters. We are equipped to identify and address issues early.
- Current, not retired, clinical skills — Dr. Crawford continues to practice general surgery actively. Her skills are maintained, not a credential from a decade ago. This is unusual in aesthetic medicine and is something patients should know about.
Philosophy
The inspiration for building Prosilience Studio has been Dr. Crawford’s surgical patients, in whom she has observed great strength, grace, and resilience in facing a variety of diagnoses, including breast cancer. The idea that resilience can be intentionally built through facing adversity is the definition of prosilience, which is a concept she discovered while considering how best to help patients through difficult times. Nurturing a positive view of oneself through Psychology (Better Than Resilient – Prosilient) and wellness ( American Psychological Association. 2020, February 1. Building your resilience) are key components of Prosilience and certainly can be enhanced through aesthetic medicine.
The sincere hope of the practice is that through the services offered, we can enhance a sense of well-being and confidence that will help carry people through the various challenges they may be facing.
