What is Morpheus8?

Morpheus8, made by InMode, is a device that combines microneedling with radiofrequency technology for fractional resurfacing that stimulates collagen production. Morpheus8 utilizes radiofrequency energy to remodel and contour the face and body. This fractional treatment penetrates deep into the skin and fat for a smoother and sleeker appearance. By targeting the deeper layers of the skin, the building blocks will reorganize themselves in a natural anti-aging process. This type of procedure is often sought out by patients looking to reduce the appearance of aging and damage.

What to expect on the day of a Morpheus8 treatment

On the day of your treatment, you will be taken into the treatment room where we will prep you for your procedure, and Dr. Crawford will walk you through how the equipment will work.

Your skin will first be cleansed to prevent infection and a numbing cream will also be applied to the treatment areas. Your provider will then use the handheld device to target your problem areas, which is pressed against your skin and rapidly delivers radiofrequency through its array of microneedles. This is repeated until the target area is fully treated to the desired extent. A very thin layer of a light ointment is applied and patients can go home.

Morpheus8 recovery

Recovery is usually short. Makeup can be applied 1 to 2 days after the treatment. Patients should expect to see micro lesions a few days after treatment and slight redness for up to 1 week depending on treatment parameters. Patients should moisturize the treatment area and avoid direct sun exposure. It is also recommended that patients use a good, broad-spectrum sunscreen every day. In addition to reducing their future risk of skin cancer, sunscreens also reduce wrinkles and slow the aging process.
