With time, we all wear our daily stress of lived experiences, challenges, and circumstances in the form of wrinkles or facial lines created from repetitive facial expressions. Facial lines are not just caused by the cellular changes that may occur in our aging bodies, they can be caused by a reduction of collagen, or damage caused by free radicals from the sun and the environment. Prosilience Studio offers BOTOX & Wrinkle Relaxers in Arlington, MA, just northwest of Boston. This treatment can make moderate to severe frown lines, crow’s feet and forehead lines look better in adults. You will still be you, just with rejuvenated skin.

What are BOTOX & Wrinkle Relaxers?

BOTOX & Wrinkle Relaxers are non-surgical cosmetic procedures used to administer botulinum toxin type A, a neurotoxin that works beneath the surface and temporarily reduces dynamic wrinkles created by the underlying muscle activity when you make a facial expression that causes static wrinkles - moderate to severe frown lines, crow’s feet and forehead lines in adults – to help them look visibly smoother. BOTOX Cosmetic is FDA-approved to temporarily improve the appearance of moderate to severe frown lines, crow’s feet and forehead lines in adults.

It’s a quick 10-minute treatment with minimal downtime. You may begin to notice results in fine lines within 24 to 48 hours, with results lasting up to 4 months for moderate to severe frown lines.

What’s the First Step?

The first step to getting BOTOX & Wrinkle Relaxers in Boston, MA is to schedule an in-person visit to Prosilience Studio for an initial consultation with Dr. Catharine Crawford, who performs every treatment herself. During the consultation, you will have the opportunity to discuss your medical history, aesthetic goals, concerns, and expectations for the procedure. We encourage full transparency of medical history and expectations so that we can arrive at the best injectable and avoid unnecessary risks.

Our team will evaluate your facial anatomy, skin condition, and the target areas of concern. At the end of the consultation, we aim to arrive at a mutually agreed upon treatment plan, after which, you can receive your injection immediately following your consultation, or if you’d prefer, you can then schedule your BOTOX & Wrinkle Relaxers appointment for a convenient time later.

What to Expect on the Day of BOTOX & Wrinkle Relaxers

On the day of your BOTOX & Wrinkle Relaxers appointment, we start with facial cleansing to make sure the skin has no other chemicals on it. Next, the skin care specialist will provide you with a cold compress or topical anesthetic, followed by marking the treatment area for the injection application.

The specialist will then begin to inject very low doses of the toxin using a very fine needle directly into the marked areas followed by a gentle massage to help alleviate any pressure or pinching sensation. This is also done to spread the toxin towards the target area, and not any further.

A typical BOTOX injection treatment takes about 15 to 20 minutes to complete from start to finish but can vary from patient to patient. We request that you remain at the office for 15 minutes to make sure there is no allergic reaction, and also so that you can receive post-treatment care instructions.

BOTOX & Wrinkle Relaxers Recovery

Given the non-invasive nature of BOTOX & Wrinkle Relaxers, recovery is fast, and many patients can return to most of their normal activities immediately after the treatment. There might be some redness, swelling, or slight bruising at the injection sites and usually, they should subside within a few hours to a few days. We recommend you refrain from major physical activity for 24-48 hours so that the toxin can settle in place. It is also recommended to avoid touching or rubbing the treated areas.

Results from BOTOX & Wrinkle Relaxers injections gradually become apparent over the following days, with the full effect typically visible within one to two weeks. Remember to follow any post-treatment care instructions to ensure complete recovery and optimal outcome.

How Much Do BOTOX & Wrinkle Relaxers Cost in Boston, MA?

The cost of BOTOX & Wrinkle Relaxers in Boston & Arlington differs based on your needs and requirements, among a few other factors. We recommend that you schedule your BOTOX consultation at the earliest to receive a customized quote that can offer you the most cost-efficient treatment.

BOTOX & Wrinkle Relaxers questions

Are BOTOX & Wrinkle Relaxers painful?

BOTOX cosmetic is generally well-tolerated by most patients and is known for being a minimally invasive procedure. Most patients report slight pressure or a pinch sensation during the injections; though individual reactions can vary. During the procedure, your comfort is our priority and among other things, we use topical anesthetics and ultra-fine needles to ensure that.

How many appointments will I need?

Depending on various factors such as the extent of the treatment and requirements of the outcome, the number of appointments for our BOTOX treatment in Boston patients will vary. Typically, only one appointment is needed with a follow-up if necessary.

Since this is not a long-term treatment option, if you find your results desirable, we recommend touch-ups every three to six months.

How long until I see results?

Typically, it takes one to two weeks to see the full impact of a BOTOX & Wrinkle Relaxers treatment. We would recommend until the end of week two to make an assessment of the outcome of your treatment.

Standard treatment of BOTOX injections in Boston will typically last up to four months, although some patients have seen longer-lasting results than that. If you wish to maintain your appearance, touch-ups are recommended.

Can I combine my BOTOX treatment with other procedures?

Yes, you can! In fact, it is recommended to combine treatments to double the impact of results. Some individuals choose to combine BOTOX & Wrinkle Relaxers with other facial aesthetic treatments such as Lip Fillers, other Dermal Fillers, or Chemical Peels.

Dr. Crawford can also perform a Liquid Facelift (a.k.a. Non-Surgical Facelift) by making strategic injections using a combination of injectables and dermal fillers to achieve a more youthful appearance without the need for plastic surgery. Keep in mind that while the results will last a while, your body will eventually absorb everything. This is a great option for patients who are interested in what a Facelift can produce but are not quite ready to go under the knife.

We encourage you to bring up these ideas during your consultation so that our team can share their expert recommendations.

What are the risks associated with BOTOX injections?

At Prosilience Studio just northwest of Boston, we take every precaution to minimize risks and complications. That said, our patients should be aware of any potential side effects before electing to get BOTOX & Wrinkle Relaxers treatment. While highly unlikely, side effects may include:
